What does it really mean to take responsibility for your life?
We hear that phrase so often as a requirement for success. But I want to take it one step deeper.
What about taking responsibility for living a life you love—for honoring and serving the God-given gift of your dream?
That kind of responsibility includes more than just action plans and discipline.
It also means choosing to notice and celebrate the sprouts of evidence along the way.
Because celebration is more than just acknowledgment—it’s fuel.
Celebration creates acceleration.
Let me explain.
If you’re growing a garden—one filled with beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables—you know how exciting it is when those first green shoots break through the soil.
Even before there’s a bloom or a harvest, those sprouts are evidence. They signal that the seeds you planted are taking root.
That something is happening below the surface, and now—finally—it’s beginning to show.
When you see those early signs, what do you do?
You might imagine a bouquet of dahlias in your kitchen. Or the beet, arugula, and goat cheese salad you’ll enjoy at dinner.
And because you believe in what’s growing, you water it. You weed around it. You give it sunlight and attention.
You don’t pull the sprout out of the ground because it’s not a full bloom yet.
And yet… that’s exactly what so many of us do with our dreams.
We plant the seeds of a new idea, a new habit, a new way of being.
And when we don’t see overnight transformation, we tell ourselves stories about how it’s not working. We stomp on the very evidence that it is.
I’ve done this too.
I used to get so discouraged when progress didn’t come as fast as I thought it should.
If I couldn’t sustain my momentum or hit my goals exactly how I pictured them, I’d look at what I had done—and discount it. I’d think, “That’s not enough,” or “It doesn’t count.”
But here’s the truth: any progress is a sprout.
It’s evidence that something is growing.
It’s your life whispering, “You’re on your way.”
Too often, when our current circumstances look nothing like the life we dream of, we start fabricating stories about why we can’t have what we long for.
Why we don’t deserve more love, greater income, or more ease and flow in our families or work.
We decide it’s too little, too late. And we stop nurturing the dream.
But here’s what I want you to hear today:
If you want your dream to grow, you have to celebrate the sprout.
Not because it’s already the full vision. But because it’s on the way.
Notice the small shifts.
- A new opportunity.
 - A fresh idea.
 - A moment of ease or clarity.
 - A conversation that lights you up.
These are sprouts—and they deserve your celebration.
And how do you celebrate the sprouts?
Use this acceleration tool to shift from discouragement to expectation:
“This is simply what it, (your current life), looks like while it, (your vision), is all coming together.”
So if you’re in the middle of growing something, especially if it’s not fully formed yet, let this be your reminder: you are not behind. You are not off track.
You’re in the process.
You’re doing the work.
And things are beginning to shift.
Give yourself the gift of noticing—and celebrating—what’s growing.
You’ll be amazed at how that simple practice accelerates everything.
With love,
Cynthia
