When I was a little girl in school, the biggest decision I remember making on field trips to the Bronx Zoo was whether I wanted vanilla or chocolate ice cream.
That was the kind of “choice” I was taught to make. Either-or. Decide from the choices given to you. Live inside the lines. Follow the rules.
But no one ever pulled me aside and said, “Do you realize the power you hold in your ability to decide?”
No one taught us that decision is more than just choosing between two safe options. Decision is one of the most powerful spiritual technologies we have.
We are not trained for that. And yet, it’s the very thing that opens the door to the life we would truly love.
Redefining Decision
When we hear the phrase “decision is powerful,” it can feel vague or even intimidating. So let’s break it down.
A decision isn’t just saying yes or no. It’s making agreement with an idea. A possibility. Something you would truly love.
You don’t have to know how it will happen. You don’t even have to feel confident yet. You simply choose to make agreement with it.
Then comes the second step: you partner with that idea.
Partnering means you get curious. You start to wonder, “If this were true for me, how would I live today? What would I do differently? What if I let myself try this idea on, even in imagination, how would that feel?”
That kind of curiosity begins to shift your energy. And when your energy shifts, your perception shifts.
Suddenly you notice ideas, people, and opportunities that were invisible before.
That is the power of decision.
The Law of Vibrational Fit
This is where the law of vibrational fit comes in. Every possibility already exists. When you decide and partner with an idea, you’re aligning your vibration with that possibility.
Here’s the part that surprises most of us: fear, doubt, and worry do not have to disappear before you decide.
You don’t wait until you feel perfectly calm, confident, or clear. The beginning of change is always the decision itself.
Once you decide, you set a new frequency. That frequency begins drawing ideas and circumstances into your awareness.
I like to say decision equals magnetic. It’s as if opportunities that fit your vision suddenly pulse in neon around you.
What Partnership Looks Like in Real Life
So how do you partner with an idea in real time?
Let’s say you feel sparked by the idea of starting your own business, or moving to a new city, or enjoying more vibrant health.
Instead of brushing that thought off as fantasy, you pause and ask:
- What step could I take today if I believed this was possible?
- What would it feel like to live as if this were already true?
- How would I carry myself differently right now?
You don’t need all the answers. You only need to practice staying with the idea long enough to keep your energy aligned with it. That’s what creates momentum.
I’ve done this myself. Recently, I entertained the idea of selling our house for enough to completely cover the mortgage on our new home—and even have money left over. On paper, it seemed far-fetched.
But instead of dismissing it, I partnered with it. I got curious. I held the feeling of “what if?”
And that’s exactly what happened. At the very last moment, an offer came through that aligned with the idea I had been entertaining.
Why Decision Feels Radical
Here’s why this can feel so radical: most of us have been trained to make decisions based on history, circumstances, or what other people say is realistic.
We’re taught to base our choices on the economy, on the past, on what seems reasonable.
But real transformation happens when we flip the script and decide based on what sparks us inside.
Not because it makes sense. Not because we have the whole path figured out. But simply because our heart says yes.
That kind of decision can appear inconsequential, but it’s actually a radical act. It’s saying, “I’m not going to make decisions from fear, lack, or conditions. I am deciding from possibility.”
And then we take the step we CAN take, before we feel comfortable.
It’s that very first step, from the new decision, that re-wires our nervous system and builds familiarity with the new direction we’ve decided for.
Why We Hesitate
Of course, there are two big traps that keep us from making powerful decisions:
- Toe-in, toe-out energy. We dip a toe into our vision, then pull it back. We say we’re trying, but we don’t go all-in. And that indecision creates resistance, frustration, and self-doubt.
- Chasing the wrong goals. Sometimes we’re deciding for something that looks good on paper but doesn’t actually come from our heart. That kind of goal won’t light us up, no matter how hard we try.
The invitation is to pause and ask, “Am I ready to serve the vision? Am I truly in love with this possibility?”
Because being “all in” is required in order to experience the transcendent self – our true capability, the part of us that’s more than we’ve known.
Soul-Quenching Decisions
So what does this look like? It could look like:
- “I am decided for being the best version of myself today”. ” “What step could I take from this decision?”
- “I am decided for radiant health, feeling strong, sexy and energized.” “What step could I take from this decision?”
- “I am decided for impactful, lucrative and creative work I love.” “What step could I take from this decision?”
- “I am decided for soul-quenching relationships with my kids/ friends/ soulmate.” “What step could I take from this decision?”
- “I am decided for allowing myself the time and space to discover what I would love.” “What step could I take from this decision?”
Not because you have proof. Not because you’ve mapped out every step. But because it feels good in your spirit.
That is enough.
Closing Reflection
Decision is more than choosing between options. It is agreement with an idea, partnership with a possibility, and alignment with a new vibration. It is subtle, yet radical.
And when you practice vision-driven decision making, you’ll notice the neon lights of opportunity flashing all around you.
So ask yourself: What am I decided for? What possibility would I love to entertain today? And what move could I make?
And then partner with that idea. Let it spark curiosity. Let it draw you forward.
Because decision, truly, is one of the most powerful spiritual technologies we have.
